I can only think in lists, here are a few:
Things I miss about my family:
1. Being late to school everyday because Johnna had to slowly iron her uniform shirt.. And then pour apple juice and find a NutriGrain bar. Same thing. Every morning.
2. Making fun of Spice for thinking "Elev." was an abbrevation for liters.
3. Seeing my sister at school and mouthing "I hate you".
4. Getting to wear a new shirt 3 times before it was stolen.
5. "This is my sister Jaynell. She listens to metal."
6. Bribing everyone out of snitching.
7. How everyone got all pissed when I picked the pepperonis off of the pizza overnight.
8. Calling my mom "gay" for saying Good morning/ Have a good day at school. And then being secretly bummed when she stopped.
9. Chasing Jazzie when she ran away. Twice a day.
10. Babysitting Ronnie and teaching him how to put up his middle finger.
11. Coming home from school and watching Court TV. Never any homework.
12. How my mom only liked my male friends.
13. How playing any type of game/sport/puzzle with Johnna resulted in a beat down.
14. Mocking my mom's accent.
15. Tagging along to trips to the grocery store to make sure Viv got the right shit.
16. My grandma not understanding why I would get tattoos. "Who.. Who did this to you?"
17. All the fucking nicknames/pet names.
18. Calling my 105 lb sister "fat".
19. How we all gave Jazzie treats, thinking that no one else was giving her any.
Things I've learned in the past couple of months:
1. How to make lentil soup with my fucking eyes closed.
2. Not every man that shows you attention deserves it in return.
3. Sleep is disposable.
4. My wardrobe breaks down into two neat categories. Sweatpants and sundresses.
5. Weekend trips to East Coast cities make me want to kill myself a lot less.
6. I am still a shy little girl if I am some where alone.
7. I will never relate to most of the human population.
8. I probably will take a year off of school.
9. How to speak in past/present tense in French.
10. The inside of my brain is like downtown Tokyo.
11. I make absolutely no sense before noon and after 10pm.
12. Tea> coffee.
